Who It's For
A fireplace should warm the people in the room, not just stir the air around them. Most gas units push heat with a blower—fine until the fan noise wears on you, and no help at all the night the power goes out. You need a fireplace that makes real warmth quietly, grid or no grid. If you're building new or deep into a renovation and you want heat you can feel from the couch, the Valor H3 is the one. Choose a fan-driven unit instead and you'll trade quiet, outage-proof warmth for a blower that needs the grid to do its job.
What Makes It Special
The H3 heats by radiance. The ceramic glass and low-mass logs soak up the fire's heat and send it into the room the way the sun warms your face, while a built-in Secondary Heat Exchanger moves warm air by natural convection—so there's no blower running in the background, ever.
Here's the real game-changer: the H3 runs on four AA batteries as its primary power source—no cord required, no backup system to remember. When an outage takes the furnace down, this fireplace keeps heating the room. The included remote sets a temperature and holds it, programs on and off times, runs a shut-off timer up to nine hours ahead, and can be child-locked.
Add the optional HeatShift system and hidden ducts carry warm air back into the room while keeping the wall above the fireplace cooler—so standard finishes like drywall, tile, or stone can run right up to the surround, still with no fan and no electricity.
Possible Downsides
- The circulating fan is an optional add-on—out of the box the H3 heats by radiance and natural convection alone.
- WiFi and app control require optional upgrade kits; the included remote handles thermostat, timer, and child-lock on its own.
- HeatShift is an optional add-on, not built in.
If you want a fireplace that keeps the room warm quietly—power or no power—the H3 is the right decision. Game nights, holidays, and ordinary Tuesday evenings all migrate to the room with the fire.
The H3 takes Birch, Driftwood, or Traditional logs, five liner styles from plain black to herringbone, and fronts in Vintage Iron, Black, or Brushed Champagne—or a Clean Install option with no front at all—so it can match the room you already have.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Valor H3?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Valor H3 and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Valor H3 in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Valor H3 into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Valor H3 as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Valor H3 yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Valor H3, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
