Who It's For

A slim fireplace saves wall depth but flattens the fire against the back panel, and a log set with no depth never quite looks real. You need a firebox deep enough for the logs to sit the way they would on a hearth. If you have the wall depth and want a fuller, more three-dimensional traditional fire, the Panorama P36 Deep is the one. Choose the slim version and you trade some of the fire's depth for a few inches of wall.

What Makes It Special

The P36 Deep is the Panorama P36 with a deeper firebox, so the log set sits back with space around it and the flames have somewhere to go, which is most of what separates a convincing gas fire from a flat one.

Finish it with a Vignette faceplate in black, platinum, or tuscan sunset, or black louvers, over rustic brown, old town red, or herringbone brick or a black reflective enamel panel. The Heat Wave duct option can carry heat to an adjacent room.

Possible Downsides

  • This version keeps a small pilot flame lit year-round; the slim P36 is available in a version that lights only when you turn it on.
  • The fan is optional, not included.
  • The remote is optional, so out of the box it is a wall switch.

If you want the logs to look like they are resting in a real firebox, the Panorama P36 Deep is the right decision. From the couch, the fire looks like one you could poke.

The P36 Deep takes a Vignette faceplate in black, platinum, or tuscan sunset or black louvers, brick panels in rustic brown, old town red, or herringbone, a black reflective enamel panel, an ember upgrade, a fan kit, wall thermostats, and the Heat Wave duct.
