A 46-inch Wilderness log fire that wraps right.

Quick Facts

  • Heating Capacity: 800–1,600 sq ft
  • Viewing Area: 46 5/16" wide
  • Fuel: Natural gas or propane.
  • Controls: Remote with thermostat included; wall switch and phone app available.

Who It's For

If the dining table or a window seat sits to the right of the fireplace wall, a front-only fire shows it nothing but metal. You need glass around the right end. If you want a 46 5/16-inch front of Wilderness logs with a right return, the Wilderness Corner Right Side 44 is the living-room size.

What Makes It Special

Driftwood, valley oak, or birch logs sit behind glass on the front and the right end, 15 3/4 inches tall.

Frameless edges let the wall finish run straight to the flame, and passive cool wall technology keeps the wall over the fire usable for a TV or art. By our math on Ortal's gas input, it's sized to warm approximately 800 to 1,600 square feet.

You pick the barrier: a fine protective mesh screen, or double glass with quiet fans moving room air between the panes to keep the outer glass cooler. With the screen version and no lights, it can run on batteries, which means it still lights during an outage. The included remote has a thermostat mode, so you set a temperature and it manages the flame.

Possible Downsides

  • The double-glass version needs household power and won't run during an outage.
  • Logs are the only media; the Wilderness Corner Right Side 51 is longer at the same warmth.

If you want a living-room log fire open to the right, the Wilderness Corner Right Side 44 is the right decision. Dinner comes with a view of the logs.

Make it yours with a mesh screen or double glass and driftwood, valley oak, or birch logs.
