The larger brick-lined traditional hearth, for a formal living room.
Quick Facts

Who It's For
In a larger formal room, a modest opening can look undersized under a full mantel. You need a traditional hearth with presence. If you want a big, squared opening lined in brick as the room's focal point, and heat isn't the point, the Traditional 110 is the larger of the two. It's certified as a decorative fireplace; choose an Ortal certified as a heater if you want warmth.
What Makes It Special
The Traditional 110 opens 42 11/16 inches wide and 34 1/8 inches tall, enough to frame a full log set under a classic mantel. Brick panels line the firebox, with a Blackridge or black reflective upgrade if you want something darker.
A TV or artwork can still go on the wall above, thanks to Ortal's passive cool wall. Frameless edges let the wall finish run straight to the flame, and passive cool wall technology keeps the wall over the fire usable for a TV or art.
Its heat barrier is a fine metal mesh screen, close to invisible from the couch. With the screen version and no lights, it can run on batteries, which means it still lights during an outage.
Its remote turns the flame on and off and runs timers and schedules.
Possible Downsides
- It's decorative-certified, not a heater; for warmth, an Ortal certified as a heater, such as the Front Facing line, is the better tool.
- In a smaller room the Traditional 90 keeps the same look with a smaller opening.
- The black reflective and Blackridge panels are upgrades, not standard.
If you want a grand traditional hearth with brick and logs, the Traditional 110 is the right decision. The formal living room starts getting used on weeknights.
Make it yours with any of the five included log sets, with bonfire, campfire, aspen, and branch sets as upgrades and red, tan, or black brick in herringbone or horizontal patterns, flat black, or Blackridge panels, and add a black reflective interior if you like.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34 and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34 in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34 into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34 as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34 yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Ortal TR 110 Traditional 40x34, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
