A 51-inch fire that splits the room without closing it.

Who It's For
A typical open plan—kitchen, dining, and living in one room—works better with something that marks where the living room starts. You need a divider you can see over and through. If the divider you're planning is about the length of a sofa, the Space Creator 120 is the size. The 75 is shorter; the 150 and 200 suit longer runs.
What Makes It Special
The Space Creator 120 puts 51 inches of fire into a divider, visible from both sides and the open end, so the living area and the kitchen share one flame.
Frameless edges let the wall finish run straight to the flame, and passive cool wall technology keeps the wall over the fire usable for a TV or art. By our math on Ortal's gas input, it's sized to warm approximately 950 to 1,850 square feet.
You pick the barrier: a fine protective mesh screen, or double glass with quiet fans moving room air between the panes to keep the outer glass cooler. With the screen version and no lights, it can run on batteries, which means it still lights during an outage. The included remote has a thermostat mode, so you set a temperature and it manages the flame.
Possible Downsides
- The double-glass version needs household power and won't run during an outage.
- For a great room, the Space Creator 150 adds about a foot of fire and a larger burner.
- It ships set up for natural gas; propane takes a conversion kit installed by an Ortal-authorized technician.
If you want a sofa-length divider that carries a fire, the Space Creator 120 is the right decision. The kitchen and the living room become one room with a center.
Make it yours with a mesh screen or double glass and any of the five included log sets, with bonfire, campfire, aspen, and branch sets as upgrades, and add a black reflective interior if you like.
