A compact modern fire that hangs on the wall like a finished piece.

Quick Facts

  • Heating Capacity: 750–1,450 sq ft
  • Viewing Area: 29 5/16" wide
  • Fuel: Natural gas; propane with a conversion kit.
  • Controls: Remote with thermostat included; wall switch and phone app available.

Who It's For

A small room—a bedroom, a study, a reading nook—can still want a fire, but not the framing and stonework a built-in brings. You need something compact that arrives ready to show. If you want a modern gas fire about 29 inches wide that stands on its own, the Stand Alone 75 is sized for that room. The 110 and 150 are built for bigger walls.

What Makes It Special

The Stand Alone 75 has a viewing area of 29 5/16 inches by 17 7/16 inches, the most upright proportion of the three Stand Alone fronts. Five log sets come included, and a decorative base is available if you'd rather it sit than hang.

Our estimate from Ortal's gas input puts its reach at roughly 750 to 1,450 square feet.

A fine protective mesh screen keeps hands off the hot glass without hiding the fire. Skip the lighting and use the screen, and batteries alone can run it—it still lights when the power is out. Set a temperature on the included remote and it holds the room there on its own.

Possible Downsides

  • It's the smallest of the line; for a living room wall, the Stand Alone 110 gives you about 14 more inches of fire.
  • Natural gas is the factory setup; switching to propane means an Ortal conversion kit and an authorized technician.
  • The black reflective interior is optional, not standard.

If you want a compact, modern fire without building a wall for it, the Stand Alone 75 is the right decision. The bedroom gets the fire you thought only the living room could have.

Configure it with an included log set—standard, driftwood, clay, or English—or a bonfire, campfire, aspen, or branch upgrade, and add a black reflective interior and a decorative base if you like.
