Five feet of linear fire with no wall to build.
Quick Facts
- Heating Capacity: 1,200–2,400 sq ft
- Viewing Area: 60 1/16" wide
- Fuel: Natural gas; propane with a conversion kit.
- Controls: Remote with thermostat included; wall switch and phone app available.
Who It's For
A big room with a long wall can make a modest fire look like an afterthought. You need a fire with the width to match the space, and a freestanding unit that skips the build-out. If you want about 60 inches of fire across a great-room wall, the Stand Alone 150 is the widest of the Stand Alone fronts. The 110 is the better match for an average living room.
What Makes It Special
The Stand Alone 150 opens to a 60 1/16-inch by 13 9/16-inch viewing area, the longest flame in the line, and it carries the largest burner of the three, so it reaches the most floor space by our estimate.
Ortal publishes the gas input, not a square footage; from that input we estimate approximately 1,200 to 2,400 square feet.
A protective mesh screen sits in front of the glass, so the fire stays in view while small hands stay off it. Run it with the screen and no interior lighting and it works on batteries, so it still lights in a power outage. Thermostat mode on the included remote keeps the room at the temperature you pick.
Possible Downsides
- A decorative base isn't listed for the 150; if you want the fire on a plinth instead of the wall, the Stand Alone 110 and 75 offer one.
- Propane needs a conversion kit, fitted by an Ortal-authorized technician; it arrives set up for natural gas.
- The black reflective interior is optional, not standard.
If you want a wide linear fire for a big room without rebuilding a wall, the Stand Alone 150 is the right decision. The great room gets a fire that's in proportion with it.
Set it up with one of five included log sets or an upgrade like bonfire, aspen, or charred branches, and add a black reflective interior if you like.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13 and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13 in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13 into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13 as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13 yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Ortal SA 150 - 60x13, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
