Who It's For
In an open room, a fire placed at the end of a wall or a half-height divider is seen from three directions. You need a fire wide enough to read from across the room and glass on three sides. If you want that without a built-in, the Stand Alone Three Sided 110 is the widest three-sided stand alone in this lineup. In a small room, the 75 is the better scale.
What Makes It Special
The 110 runs the larger burner of the three-sided stand alones behind glass on the front and both ends, so the flame stretches farther and reads from the kitchen, the dining table, and the sofa.
Expect it to warm roughly 800 to 1,550 square feet, our estimate from Ortal's gas input.
A fine protective mesh screen keeps hands off the hot glass without hiding the fire. Skip the lighting and use the screen, and batteries alone can run it—it still lights when the power is out. Pick a temperature on the remote that comes with it, and the fire turns itself up and down to hold it.
