Nearly six feet of long-log Wilderness fire.

Who It's For
Large rooms need a fire with reach as well as realism. You need length and a big burner. If you want 68 1/8 inches of long driftwood logs behind standard or tall glass, the Wilderness Front Facing 68 is where the large Wilderness burner starts.
What Makes It Special
The 68 uses the Driftwood 135-3 burner, three long logs, which our estimate puts at approximately 1,550 to 3,050 square feet—roughly twice the reach of the standard-log 44, 51, and 60.
Ortal builds it without a frame, so the opening looks cut into your wall, and the cool-wall design means a TV or artwork can still hang above.
The heat barrier is your call: a fine mesh screen that keeps hands off the hot glass, or a double-glass front cooled by fans between the panes. Run it with the screen and no interior lighting and it works on batteries, so it still lights in a power outage. Set a temperature on the included remote and it holds the room there on its own.
Possible Downsides
- Double glass runs on the plug-in adapter, so that version is dark during a power outage.
- Driftwood is the only log style at this size; for valley oak or birch, the standard-log Wilderness Front Facing 60.
If you want a long log fire with the reach for a large room, the Wilderness Front Facing 68 is the right decision. The whole main floor feels the fire.
Configure it with a mesh screen or double glass with glass 15 3/4" or 21 5/8" tall and the long driftwood log set.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13)?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13) and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13) in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13) into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13) as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13) yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 68 (50x13), run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
