The tall five-foot Wilderness fire with standard logs.
Quick Facts
- Heating Capacity: 800–1,600 sq ft
- Viewing Area: 60 1/8" wide
- Fuel: Natural gas or propane.
- Controls: Remote with thermostat included; wall switch and phone app available.
Who It's For
A long log fire behind low glass can hide its logs from across the room. You need a taller window. If you want the 60 1/8-inch Wilderness fire behind taller glass with driftwood, valley oak, or birch logs, the Wilderness Front Facing 60H with standard logs is that version.
What Makes It Special
The 60H raises the glass on the five-foot Wilderness fire, so the full stack of standard logs is in view from the couch and from the kitchen.
Your stone or tile meets the fire with no trim in between, and Ortal's passive cool wall means the space above can hold a TV or a painting. Our estimate from Ortal's gas input puts its reach at roughly 800 to 1,600 square feet.
Two barriers are offered—a nearly invisible mesh screen, or double glass whose fans keep the outer pane far cooler than the fire side. Thermostat mode on the included remote keeps the room at the temperature you pick.
Possible Downsides
- Double glass runs on the plug-in adapter, so that version is dark during a power outage.
- Standard logs keep the smaller burner; the long-log version of the Wilderness Front Facing 60H reaches much more space by our estimate.
If you want a tall five-foot log fire with your choice of log style, the Wilderness Front Facing 60H with standard logs is the right decision. The logs are what everyone notices first.
Set it up with a mesh screen or double glass and driftwood, valley oak, or birch logs.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21)?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21) and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21) in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21) into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21) as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21) yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Ortal Front Facing Fireplace 60 H Series (60x21), run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
