What Makes It Special
The 31H uses the same log choices as the 31—dark brown, chopped wood, driftwood, valley oak, or birch—in a tall, narrow firebox, so the flames climb a column of logs.
Ortal builds it without a frame, so the opening looks cut into your wall, and the cool-wall design means a TV or artwork can still hang above. Ortal publishes the gas input, not a square footage; from that input we estimate approximately 750 to 1,650 square feet.
Two barriers are offered—a nearly invisible mesh screen, or double glass whose fans keep the outer pane far cooler than the fire side. Run it with the screen and no interior lighting and it works on batteries, so it still lights in a power outage. Thermostat mode on the included remote keeps the room at the temperature you pick.
