Flames that dance within and around the logs.
Quick Facts
- Fuel: Natural gas or propane.
- Controls: Electronic ignition with a thermostatic remote: flame height, burners, fan speed, lights, and a timer from your seat.
- Fan: Included.
Who It's For
Many gas fires show flames under a log set that never looks lit. You want a fire that looks like real wood burning. The Mendota FV41 FireIn is made for that. Settle for a basic box and the fire never becomes the room's focal point.
What Makes It Special
The FireIn burner sits inside the log set, so the flames come up not just under the logs but within and around them, and the hand-painted birch or white oak logs capture the look of a crackling wood fire.
The FV41 FireIn brings it to Mendota's FV41, its traditional fireplace with a large view of the fire.
If the power goes out, plug in the back-up battery pack and the burner and flame height keep working; the fans and accent lights wait for the power to return. Mendota builds its fireplaces from heavy-gauge steel with full-seam welding and careful hand assembly in America's heartland.
Possible Downsides
- Logs, liner, and front are sold separately. You choose each one to build the look.
- The fans need power. In an outage the battery pack runs the burner, not the fans.
If you want a fireplace that becomes the center of the room, the Mendota FV41 FireIn is the right decision. The room fills with warmth and everyone ends up gathered by the fire.
Choose the front or doors, the liner, and the log set or media, and add the LED floor light kit where offered. Ask about the Mendota Cool Wall, Versiheat, and FlexHeat kits, which move heat away from the wall or to another room.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Mendota FV41 FireIn?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Mendota FV41 FireIn and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Mendota FV41 FireIn in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Mendota FV41 FireIn into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Mendota FV41 FireIn as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Mendota FV41 FireIn yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Mendota FV41 FireIn, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
