The classic Mendota DXV log fire, with remote control and Wi-Fi.
Quick Facts
- Fuel: Natural gas or propane.
- Controls: Electronic ignition with a thermostatic remote: flame height, burners, fan speed, lights, and a timer from your seat. Wi-Fi app control is available.
- Fan: Included.
Who It's For
A classic log fire should not mean old-fashioned controls. You want the traditional look with modern convenience. The Mendota DXV45 Deep Timber 4 LX is made for that. Settle for a basic box and the fire never becomes the room's focal point.
What Makes It Special
Each DXV fireplace is handcrafted. The DXV line has won Best of Show at the National Hearth Products Association Expo, and its logs are molded from real field logs and hand-painted in eight colors.
The Deep Timber 4 LX pairs that fire with Mendota's BurnGreen burner and remote system. Mendota says its fireplaces produce less than 1% of the particulate emissions of wood-burning fireplaces.
If the power goes out, plug in the back-up battery pack and the burner and flame height keep working; the fans and accent lights wait for the power to return. Mendota builds its fireplaces from heavy-gauge steel with full-seam welding and careful hand assembly in America's heartland.
Possible Downsides
- The decorative front is sold separately. Pick one of Mendota's fronts or door sets to finish it.
- The fans need power. In an outage the battery pack runs the burner, not the fans.
If you want a fireplace that becomes the center of the room, the Mendota DXV45 Deep Timber 4 LX is the right decision. The room fills with warmth and everyone ends up gathered by the fire.
Choose a front or door set such as Prairie, Bentley, Grace, Tuscany, Millennia, Deerfield, or Andover (not every front fits every model). Ask about the Mendota Cool Wall, Versiheat, and FlexHeat kits, which move heat away from the wall or to another room.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Mendota DXV45 DT4 LX, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
