Who It's For
A stove with a small front window makes you sit in one spot to see the fire, and a stove that only runs hot cooks you out of the room by nine. You need wide views and a wide range of heat. If you want a modern freestanding stove with a one-piece wraparound door and flames you can set high for heat or low for ambiance, the Ultimate U38 is the one. A single-setting stove is either too much or off.
What Makes It Special
The Ultimate's one-piece wraparound door frames the fire from the front and both sides with clean, modern lines, so the stove reads as a glass box of flame on a black steel pedestal.
Flame height adjusts from maximum heat down to a quiet glow, the variable-speed blower is included, and a battery backup keeps the heat on in a power outage. Choose traditional or driftwood logs and louvers in black or brushed nickel.
Possible Downsides
- The pilot flame stays lit year-round; there is no on-demand version of this stove.
- A safety screen is a separate part, not included.
If you want a modern stove with a view from three sides and heat you can dial down, the Ultimate U38 is the right decision. The stove stays on all evening at a setting that keeps the room comfortable instead of hot.
The U38 offers a traditional log package or driftwood log set, round bar louvers in black or brushed nickel, a safety screen, an ember upgrade, a flue collar, heat-reduction kits, and basic or programmable wall thermostats.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent)?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent) and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent) in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent) into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent) as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent) yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Regency Ultimate U38 (B-Vent), run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
