Who It's For

You like the look of a cast-door stove on a hearth, but not the hauling, the ash, or the tending. You need the stove without the work. If you want a classic stove silhouette with push-button gas heat that keeps working when the power fails, the Classic C34 is the one. Stick with wood and you keep the chores; pick a plain gas fireplace and you lose the stove.

What Makes It Special

The Classic blends the look of a wood stove with the convenience of gas: a cast door in black or black with nickel trim, a pedestal or cast iron legs in black or brushed nickel, and glowing logs behind heavy ceramic glass. No chimney is needed.

Like every Regency gas stove it runs without electricity, giving radiant heat with the power out, and a battery backup keeps the ignition working. The basic version keeps a small pilot flame lit; the upgraded version lights only when you turn it on.

Possible Downsides

  • The basic version burns a pilot flame year-round; the upgraded version does not.
  • The fan is optional, not included.
  • The smallest fire window of Regency's gas stoves; the Hampton H27 and H35 show more flame.

If you want a stove on the hearth and none of the firewood, the Classic C34 is the right decision. The stove is lit every evening because lighting it takes one button.

The C34 comes in natural gas or propane in a basic or upgraded version, with a black or nickel-trim door, a pedestal or cast iron legs in black or brushed nickel, a bottom shield, a two-speed fan kit, an ember upgrade, and wall thermostats.
