Who It's For

You want a fireplace on the living room wall, under or beside the TV, and there is no way to vent one. You need a wide electric fire that reads as a fireplace, not a gadget. If you want a slim recessed fire sized for a living room, with logs that glow and lighting you can tune, the Studio 52-inch is the one. A small electric unit on that wall looks like an afterthought.

What Makes It Special

The Studio 52-inch keeps the line's glowing, sectioned oak logs and Chromalight up-lighting at a living-room width, so the fire has presence on a main wall and the ember bed can match the room in amber or color.

Three flame settings, a thermostatic remote you can program, and a heater with blower you can leave off in summer. It recesses fully into the wall with a slim trim and no chimney or gas line.

Possible Downsides

  • Supplemental heat for one room, not whole-house heat.
  • No app control on the Studio line.
  • Single-sided only; the Onyx and Avita offer corner and three-sided installs.

If you want a living-room fireplace and the wall will never take a vent, the Studio 52-inch is the right decision. The TV wall becomes a fireplace wall with a TV on it.

The Studio 52-inch comes with a split oak log set and offers an optional birch log set and a mood lighting kit.
