Who It's For

A large fireplace with a big room around it needs more than a flame picture; it needs to carry the room on a cold night. You need an insert that heats hard and fast. If you have a large opening and want strong radiant heat right in front of the fire, plus a blower to push warmth into the far corners, the Liberty Radiant LRi6 is the one. A decorative insert in that opening looks right and leaves you reaching for the thermostat.

What Makes It Special

Regency describes the LRi6 as providing intense radiant heat instantly: the area in front of the fireplace warms the moment it lights, and the included circulating blower distributes the rest of the heat across a large room when you turn it on.

It is a reliable heat source during a power outage, because the radiant heat does not depend on the fan. Seven Vignette faceplates and two inlays set the style, over brick in three colors or black enamel reflective panels.

Possible Downsides

• Log fire only; for a crystal or stone fire bed in the same large size, see the Horizon HRi6.
• A non-combustible hearth board is a separate part on some installations.
• Sized for large openings and large rooms; in a medium room the LRi4 is the better fit.
