Who It's For

A typical living-room fireplace with a fan-driven insert warms the air, and the air leaves every time someone opens the door. You need an insert that heats the people and the furniture, not just the air. If you have a medium fireplace opening and want heat you feel right away, backed by a fan for the corners, the Liberty Radiant LRi4 is the one. Pick a convective-only insert and the room never quite catches up.

What Makes It Special

The LRi4 delivers both radiant and convective heat: ceramic glass radiates warmth straight into the room, and the integrated fan carries the rest to the far wall when you want it. Turn the fan off and it keeps heating quietly, including when the power is out.

The look is yours to set with seven Vignette faceplates, door or craftsman inlays, and adjustable hearth trim, over brick in three colors, black steel, or black enamel reflective panels. It lights only when you turn it on, so no gas flows between fires.

Possible Downsides

  • Log fire only; for a contemporary crystal or stone fire bed, see the Horizon HRi3 or HRi6.
  • Backing plate spacers are a separate part when the faceplate needs to stand off an uneven face.

If your fireplace is average size and you want the room warm the moment you sit down, the Liberty Radiant LRi4 is the right decision. The living room becomes the room nobody wants to leave in January.

The LRi4 offers seven Vignette faceplates, door and craftsman inlays, six backing plates including custom sizes, spacers, brick panels in rustic brown, old town red, or volcanic black, black steel or black enamel reflective panels, adjustable hearth trim, and a mantel heat deflector.
