A wood fire that sets its own air, so you don't have to babysit it.

Who It's For
Wood heat rewards attention. Open the air too far and the load burns off in an hour; close it too soon and the glass blackens. Most people don't want to stand by the fireplace adjusting a lever. You need a fire that manages itself. The RSF Focus SBR is for the household that wants real wood heat for 1,000 to 2,000 square feet without learning to run it like an expert. Choose a manual-air fireplace and the fire is only as good as your timing; choose this and it adjusts for you.
What Makes It Special
RSF calls it Smart BurnRate: a bi-metallic air control that adjusts the burn rate on its own. You get an air-infused easy light-up, then steady heat and slow, lazy flames as the load burns.
The 2.6 cubic foot firebox is lined with custom-molded refractory bricks reinforced with stainless steel pins, and it takes logs up to 22 inches, so standard firewood goes in without trimming. It meets the 2020 federal emission standard with room to spare.
It can also do more than heat one room. Gravity vents and a heat dump move warmth to nearby rooms, and a central heating blower and zone controls let it feed your home's ductwork.
Possible Downsides
- A louver set or clean-face kit is required. The clean face also needs two gravity vents.
- The blower is an add-on. So are the central heating and zone parts.
- It is a wood fire. You still bring in wood and take out ash.
If you want wood heat without fiddling with the air, the RSF Focus SBR is the right decision. You load it after dinner, sit down, and the fire takes care of itself.
Choose black louvers or a clean face, then add gravity vent kits, an internal blower, a heat dump, central heating and zone controls, a rock retainer kit, or a firescreen.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the RSF Focus SBR Fireplace, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
