Who It's For
A large fireplace can heat most of a house on wood, but big inserts tend to come in one look, and it is usually the wrong one for your room. You need a large hybrid insert with real choice in how it is finished. If you want fourteen-hour burns and 78 percent efficiency behind a contemporary door or a classic arched one, with surrounds in five finishes, the Alterra Pro i3000 is the one. A fixed-look insert makes the room work around it.
What Makes It Special
The i3000 is a large hybrid insert with two personalities: a contemporary door with regular, oversize, or custom faceplates and premium surrounds in black, grey, white, sunset bronze, or brushed nickel, or a classic arched door with traditional surrounds. Regency rates it for up to 2,600 square feet with emissions under one gram an hour.
Eco-Boost triple-burn with a metal catalytic combustor stretches a load of 20-inch logs to fourteen hours. Regency's hybrids carry a ten-year warranty on top of the lifetime limited warranty, and a hardwire kit powers the optional fan without a visible cord.
Possible Downsides
- The catalytic combustor is a wear part and adds a bypass lever at lighting.
- The fan is optional, and a large insert heating a whole house wants one.
- Built for large fireplaces and large homes; for a standard opening, see the Cascades I2500.
If your fireplace is large and you want it to heat the house in the style of your room, the Alterra Pro i3000 is the right decision. The furnace becomes the backup, and the fireplace matches the house.
The i3000 offers contemporary or classic arched doors, seven faceplates including custom and cast iron, premium surrounds in black, grey, white, sunset bronze, or brushed nickel, traditional surrounds in black or brushed nickel, a variable-speed fan kit, a hardwire kit, and a replacement metal combustor.

Can you get an instant online estimate for the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro?
Yes—right on this page. Configure the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro and get a free, no-obligation instant estimate covering the unit as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor. No phone call required.
What's included in the online estimate?
The unit with the options you selected, a real vent kit matched to your venting, and the installation labor for a typical setup. Your free one-to-two-hour in-home visit confirms every detail before anything is ordered.
Who pulls the permit?
We do, on every job, in every jurisdiction we serve—and we meet the inspector. It's built into the process, not an upsell.
Can you see the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro in a photo of your own room?
Yes. The Visualizer tab on this page renders the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro into a straight-on photo of your wall, scaled to the room, so you see it in your space before you price a thing. Phone photos are fine. It's a faithful preview, not an architectural drawing; sizing, venting, and trim get confirmed at the free in-home visit.
Is the online estimate real, or a rough guess?
Real, and honest about what it is: a price for the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro as configured, a fitting vent kit, and professional installation labor, built from real Seattle installs. It is not binding. The free one-to-two-hour in-home visit checks your actual house before the price is final, and nothing is ordered until then.
Do you install and service the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro yourselves?
Yes, both. Our own in-house installers set the Regency i3000 Alterra Pro, run the venting and the gas, pull the permit, and light the first fire before leaving. Afterward the service desk looks after every unit that came from Sutter, with factory-trained technicians and a real date when you call.
