Hand Held TransmitterReceiver Box

If your remote control has stopped working suddenly, check the batteries and make sure your pilot light is lit and in the "ON" position. There are batteries in the hand held TRANSMITTER, and in the RECEIVER box below the fireplace. If you have only replaced the hand held batteries, follow the procedure below to replace the batteries in the RECEIVER as well. You can also click a link below for a specific remote. If you have replaced the batteries in your receiver and cannot get it working check that the switch on the receiver is in the "REMOTE" or "RF" position. Also verify you haven't undone any wires by switching it to the "ON" position, this should fire up the unit with or without batteries.

Procedure:

(1) Fold down lower grill on the fireplace to allow access to the valve and receiver box.

(2) Once you have located the receiver box, pull it out enough to change the batteries. Be carefull not to damage the wires.

(3) Replace Batteries:    There is usually a door with tabs, or sliding cover on the receiver to access the batteries. On some remote you will need to pull off the switch to enable you to remove the plastic cover. On Regency Firegenie remotes, you just push on the battery diagram and it pops out.

(4) Put back together, and switch receiver to the "REMOTE" or "RF" position
