How To Light Your Pilot:
- Always check your Owners Manual if its available, you can also find instructions under the fireplace on a piece of sheet metal (data plate) where the valve is located.
General Instructions:
Put Pilot Knob in "PILOT" Position, Hold Pilot Knob in while sparking the pilot (usually red or black piezo ignitor), after the pilot has been lit, continue holding knob for 1 minute or longer. When you let go, the pilot should stay lit. If not, hold it for a while longer. If it keeps going out, chances are that you need a new thermocouple. If it was purchased here, we can service it for you.
- Please remove the glass from the fireplace or stove before lighting the pilot, this will prevent gas buildup while holding knob in.
- Make sure that your key valve (usually in a wall or floor nearby) or shutoff valve (behind freestanding stove) hasn't been turned off. Turn Key counter-clockwise to open valve, Turn shutoff valve so that handle is in line with valve to open.
- If the key valve was turned off, it could take a long time for the gas to reach the pilot, make sure that gas is flowing out of the pilot before getting too discouraged.
- Check that the main switch that operates the fireplace is turned off.
